Baby Registry Essentials
These are the items that I have loved having since Eli has been born. I did a ton of research on products while creating my registry so I hope this list helps you! Of course everyone has their favorites so keep that in mind!
Burt’s Bees burp clothes - I use more than I thought I would need!
Diaper pail - this one works great for both disposable and cloth!
Happiest Baby swaddle - Eli hasn’t used this one but I plan to purchase this for the next baby as I didn’t care for the SwaddleMe.
Snuggle Me Organic baby lounger - we used this all the time the first 2 months
UPPAbaby Mesa Carseat - made with non-toxic materials, we love it!
Boppy Nursing Pillow (it’s nice to have 2 - I have this and the Brest Friend)
Aukey Touch Lamp - perfect for nursing in bed
carseat cover/nursing cover - this is great when babe falls asleep in the car and you need to carry them somewhere as it keeps the distraction out
Marpac original white noise machine, it’s simple and I feel safe leaving it on all night next to little ears! I didn’t want a ton of technology and EMFs in the room.
Nose Frida - trust me you will need this!
Snuggle Me swaddle blanket - if you want to swaddle using a blanket get a stretchier fabric like this, I didn’t really like the muslim blankets for swaddling as they didn’t hold as tight
Grovia cloth diapers - we had hand-me-down newborn cloth diapers but now use the all-in-one organic and the O.N.E diaper for nighttime and they have worked great so far.
nursing cover with open ring top for viewing babe
Every parent needs a portable noise machine. We use this one all the time!
Love to Dream swaddle - great if your babe likes to sleep with arms up and as babe gets older (4 weeks-2.5 months or so)
Skip Hop whale bath tub - we love this! It works well on the counter or in a tub.
Boba wrap - great for the first weeks!
Beautycounter Soothing Baby Oil - perfect to massage baby with after bathing
Boon bottle drying rack - I use this way more than I thought I would with breastfeeding due to pumping parts
Kyte Baby newborn hats - they are so soft and don’t fall of baby’s head at all
Bumbo changing pad - I definitely recommend a wipeable one like this!
Halo swaddle - our hospital gifted this to us and I think it worked better for Eli than the SwaddleMe we had bought (he outgrew the SwaddleMe too fast and his hands always popped out)
Beautycounter Diaper Cream - EWG certified!
Large diaper bag backpack - I really like ours and recommend a larger one like this one if you’re going to have more than 1 child.
Simba baby safety nail scissors - this thing is the best seriously!
Postpartum and Breastfeeding
Silicone breast pump - this is great to use after babe has nursed on one side to help collect any remaining milk. Don’t use it until 2-3 weeks and I don’t recommend using it every feeding as you’ll create an oversupply, but it is nice to collect an extra .5 oz - 1.5 oz a few times a day!
manual breast pump - great for middle of the night and flying or car trips if you don’t have an outlet
Nipple Cream - I prefer this brand over the Earth Mama nipple cream as it spreads easier.
Earth Perineal Spray - a non-toxic/safe spray that helped so much the first 2 weeks PP. Bring this to the hospital!
bamboo nursing pads - I would wait to purchase these until you know if you leak or not
Earth Mama perineal balm - this has more of a cooling effect than the spray but is a bit more difficult to apply. I liked having both.
breast therapy pack - these are nice as they can be heated or chilled (perfect for clogged ducts or mastitis!)
